Where the creative process normally ends, there is Marieke’s start. Her broadmindedness brought forth magic like Supertoys, Vieze Poezendek and Milkshake Festival. The festival scene lacked a for all who love ethos with an endlessly diverse crowd. Taking brands she fully supports to a higher level: this also makes her heart beat faster. Starting D.O.L.HOUSE (brands & concepts) was the next logical step in the career of Marieke. Her creative spirit combined with commercial insight are the exact needed instruments that get the best out of a collaboration. Her motto? The time is always now.
Maz Weston moved to Amsterdam at the end of the 80’s and organized with ‘Soho Connection’ the very first illegal Acid House Warehouse Party in the town: exciting times where everything seemed possible and a whole new musical revolution took place. She works currently in Paradiso as producer – or mostly ‘trouble shooter’ – for events such as Manifesto, Oud Hollandsch Acid Feest, Black Tea Party, F*cking Pop Queers, Gouden Kabouter Awards and Lovedance. This year she’s taking care of the music programming for Milkshake. What makes Amsterdam an exciting place to be? Possibly the fact that so many different cultures and scenes live, work and party together bringing color, tolerance and sensation to the city. Milkshake brings everyone together in the same positive way – it’s a day to celebrate life.
After a couple of decades working in the dance scene as a creative, Sinan ended up working for Milkshake festival. “Milkshake to me is the stepping-stone into the future: a utopia where we are free of labels; a place where we can express our true identity. I feel this festival is a celebration of live and have never felt more at home in a work environment.”
