WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE FESTIVAL?

Is Milkshake Festival for me?
Milkshake is a festival for all who love.

What is the minimum age for Milkshake Festival?
The festival is for people aged 18 and up.

Do I need to bring my ID?
Before entering, the festival security can ask for your identification to check your age. Please note that a copy of your identification document will not be accepted as a valid identification document. When purchasing your tickets for Milkshake Festival you can use your chosen name.

What payments methods are accepted at Milkshake Festival?
At Milkshake you can pay directly with your debit card (Maestro) or a credit card (Visa/Mastercard) at the bar, food points, the merchandise stand et cetera.

What kind of food and drinks are available?
Milkshake is a 100% vegetarian festival. Our food trucks serve all kinds of delicious food options. Think burgers, sandwiches, wood-oven pizzas, organic fries, Indian, Mexican, Asian cuisine, sweet and savory crepes, smoothies, ice cream, fruit, cocktails and a lot more!

Are you on a special diet? No problem! We serve lots of, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options.

It’s prohibited to bring your own food & drinks to the festival.

What am I allowed to bring to the festival?
You’re allowed to bring inflatable animals, dress suits, empty camel bags, personal cameras, condoms, go-pros, selfie sticks (when folded), cigarettes, roll-on deodorant (no spray cans!), foldable umbrellas, and chargers. E-bike batteries are allowed only when put in a locker.

What am I not allowed to bring to the festival?
Your safety is extremely important to us. Therefore, everything and everyone is searched at the entrance (including luggage). Do you have something with you that is not on our ‘allowed list’? Then we’ll throw it away. Pay attention! In some cases, access to the site of the festival may be denied.

You’re not allowed to bring weapons, sharp or hard objects, glass and fluids.
Due to safety reasons, you’re not allowed to bring nitrous oxide.

E-bike batteries are allowed only when put in a locker.

Will I get photographed at the festival?
When entering the festival, you give permission to be photographed by our photographers. You’re not allowed to bring your own professional equipment, but selfies and photos of you and your friends are allowed (please make sure to tag us).

What if it rains?
You will look good anyways! Dry or WET! In case of bad and wet weather there will be rain capes available. Approximately half of the festival area is covered by tents. The other half is not.

Am I allowed to take drugs?
All festivals in the Netherlands operate under a governmental ‘zero-tolerance policy’. This means that no soft- drugs or hard drugs are allowed. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is also not allowed on the festival.

Do you sell Milkshake Merch?
Yes baby we do! There will be Milkshake products available at the official Boutique stand. Did you already see our online Milkshake Boutique?

Where to buy your tickets?
Be sure to get your tickets via our official online Ticketshop. Please be careful when purchasing tickets from any other source than our official online ticket shop as we can’t guarantee the validity of these tickets. Our only re-selling platform is Ticketswap.

Which tickets are available for Milkshake 2026?
Saturday 25 July 2026, from 12:00 till 23:00
Sunday 26 July 2026, from 13:00 till 23:00

What is entertainment tax and why is this in the ticket price?
As of January 1st 2023, the Dutch Government requires this from festivals. Read all about it on the Government website here.

Bought a ticket, when will I receive it?
All tickets will be sent out to the main buyers the day before the festival. They should receive from Paylogic in their inbox with the link to download the tickets. Make sure to check the spam inbox as well!

MILKSHAKE, BABE, WHO ARE YOU?

Milkshake Festival is an open-minded electronic dance festival for all who love and takes place yearly in the city centre of Amsterdam since 2012. Milkshake shows that entertainment, music choice, choice of clothing have nothing to do with status, gender or sexuality. In previous years there have been 11 stages per day that showcase (inter)national event organizations, artists, and performance artists. The most played genres are electronic, house, disco, pop, techno, R&B, and dancehall.

Our intention is to create and give a platform to artists and performance artists, that support (or belong to) underrepresented community’s in our society. Life is a party thanks to the great diversity of skin colors, body shapes, sexual preferences, and gender identities. Thick, thin, small, large, gay, straight, trans, black, white, and everyone in between: ‘People are the salt of the earth and this is what we celebrate!'

Ownership & Values

<p>Milkshake festival was founded in 2012 by Air Events & Paradiso Amsterdam in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In 2015, Air Events – including its majority stake in Milkshake festival - was acquired by ID&T, then a subsidiary of SFX Entertainment and since 2021, owned by Superstruct Entertainment. Through this acquisition, Milkshake festival, became part of Superstruct Entertainment. In 2024,Paradiso Amsterdam sold its remaining stake in Milkshake festival to Superstruct Entertainment. Superstruct Entertainment itself was previously backed by Providence Equity Partners, which sold its interest to global investment firm KKR in June 2024. Throughout these ownership changes, Milkshake festival has consistently remained under the stewardship of the same dedicated team, with an unwavering commitment to its founding values.</p> <p>Milkshake festival's intention is to create and give platform to artists and performance artist that support (or belong to) underrepresented communities in our society. Life is a party thanks to the great diversity of skin colours, body shapes, sexual preferences and gender identities. WHAT ARE THE MILKSHAKE SOCIAL MEDIA HOUSE RULES?

We support freedom of expression. Therefore, we want to ensure that our platform offers a safe(r), respectful and inclusive place for everyone. By everyone we mean the Milkshake visitors, crew, artists and performers. These house rules apply to our online spaces and will hopefully contribute to maintaining a vibrant and accepting platform where everyone feels safe to join the conversation.

Social Media House Rules

Respect each other, everyone is free to discuss topics and disagree with one another. But be respectful when commenting or reacting. You are more likely to achieve your goals if you are constructive and respectful.
No hate speech, discrimination or offensive language based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, economic background, education or other elements of identity.
It is okay to disagree, but we do not allow personal attacks, harassment or threats. This includes crew, artists, performers and Milkshake visitors.
Comments targeting individuals are strictly prohibited. This includes Milkshake crew members.

Consequences of violating the rules

If a comment violates these rules, the Milkshake social team has the right to remove the comment.
Users who repeatedly ignore these guidelines may have their commenting restricted or be blocked from our page.
In extreme cases, hate speech or threats may be reported to the platform or local authorities.

WHERE CAN I REST MY HEAD?

Note:

When choosing your full magical experience make sure you add festival tickets separately to your hotel selection as these are not included.
Afterparty tickets are not included, but can be bought separately.

HOW TO GET TO THE VENUE?

Milkshake festival will take place at Westergas, Amsterdam.

Upon arrival, please follow the signs towards the festival entrance. In case of a traffic diversion, please follow instructions provided by the stewards.

We encourage all visitors to come bike and public transport. The festival is easy to reach.

Coming by public transport?
Easiest is to check Google maps and select transit or go to 9292 and select your starting point and Westerpark.

Coming by bike or scooter?
Bikes & scooters can be parked at the Polonceaukade near the Arend bridge and at the crossing of Pazzanistraat / Haarlemmerweg. Both parking spaces can be found near the festival entrance. The parking is unguarded. Avoid the crowds and save the planet, come by bike!

Coming by Taxi or Uber?

The taxi rank is located at the Shell at Van Slingelandtplein.

Getting dropped off?

The kiss & ride is at the Vredenhofweg.

After all the above still want to come by car?
If you still decide to come by car, Milkshake visitors can park their car at Transformatorweg, follow the parking signs. These are regular unguarded parking places, and it’s first come first serve. On Saturday and Sunday there is no fee. From the Transformatorweg it is a +/- 20 minute walk to the festival entrance. Follow the signs to the festival entrance.

ACCESSIBILITY, CARE AND CELEBRATE SAFE

We aim for Milkshake festival to be a positive experience for everyone. Here you can read all about accessibility, extra care facilities and how we create a safer space for everyone.

Accessibility

The main paths to and at the festival are paved surfaces. The rest of the site consists of a grass surface.
The roads at the festival are equipped with road plates and ramps that lead to the stages and facilities. Most stages also have a surface consisting of road plates.
At the main stages, special spots have been reserved for wheelchair users and people with walking difficulties.
Certain areas on the festival site may have a slight slope, but generally, the festival is located on ground level. The festival tents will be accessible by wheelchair ramps.
WesterUnie is accessible by stairs only, but security is instructed to assist anyone who needs help getting up te stairs.
The festival site is equipped with three toilet groups distributed throughout the area. Each toilet group includes a designated accessible wheelchair toilet. By default, the door to this toilet is locked to maintain cleanliness and accessibility. The toilet staff is readily identifiable and can unlock the facility for you. If you require assistance, please feel free to approach our staff members, and don't hesitate to ask for help.
Almost all bars at the festival have an area that is specially equipped for visitors who use a wheelchair or have difficulty walking. These bars have lowered dispensing points and lowered listings. These order and pickup points can be found at the short end of the bars. The bars with these special provisions are indicated on the floorplan.

Care

Queerwatch is our awareness team and care unit. Present at the festival in case you need any help, feel anxious are unwell or want a time out. You can find posters of Queerwatch on every toilet. If you need help you can text the number on the poster and someone will come and help you.
Trans chill out Milkshake is a lot, a lot of fun, but still a lot. For our trans visitors we have created the Trans Chill Out. Here you will be able to find your peers and get a little love and understanding. Our friends from Trans United will be there to support you as much as possbile.
HandicapNL is our partner who helps to make the festival more accessible for people with disabilities. They will be present during the festival and will be stationed next to the first aid station.
Feeling overwhelmed? For everyone in need we have a low Stimulus room, take a break, recharge and when you are feeling okay again go and enjoy the festival.
The First aid station will be available at the festival. If you need any medical assistance feel free to ask for help. Are you overwhelmed we also have a low stimulus area, for you to chill and relax.

Celebrate Safe

Unity will be present to help us celebrate safe. Needs some tips before the party starts make sure you check out the Celebrate Safe website for some awesome tips on feeling great while partying.
